Dear Falmer,

(23)

Thank you for the copy telegram received by you from the Hong Kong authorities stating that the Companies (Cessation of Emergency Status) Crdinance became operative on 20th June and the Law Amendments (Transitional Provisions) Scheme 1 Amendment Order became operative on 13th June.

We are not however clear about the Law Amendments (Transitional Provisions) Scheme 1 Amendment Order but assume it relates to Article 4B which was to be added to The Military Froclamation No. 27 providing for re-registration in Hong Kong of Shanghai companies registered in England under Regulation 5. Would you kindly confirm. We note that a Despatch is following the telegram and should be grateful if you would send us a copy thereof when received.

We should be glad also to have three copies of each of the Crdinance and Order above-mentioned.

II. Falmer, Esq.,

Colonial Office,

Downing Street,

S.W.1.

Yours sincerely,

Splatom
